Hanukkah Music and Merriment (Bring a Friend Day and Reutlinger)!

Shalom Shiraniks!

Chag Sameach!  The last night of Hanukkah is upon us, and we have had a wonderful holiday together.  Last week, we invited our friends to come to JQuest with us on Tuesday and Wednesday. We shared latkes, played dreidel, sang Hanukkah songs and had fun retelling the Hanukkah story "in the style of" various popular genres (i.e. superheroes, Harry Potter and sports).  Here are a few photos (and scroll down for more!)

Today, the Shira class had a very special field trip to the Reutlinger Community for Senior Living.  When we arrived, we sang our best Hanukkah songs for the seniors, accompanied by Ben. Then, we all joined the residents for dreidel games, cookies and punch.  The seniors enjoyed chatting with the students, and the students had a wonderful time getting to know the seniors and hearing their stories!

Henry is 94 and still has a wonderful voice and many stories to tell.  He survived the Holocaust and was a cantor in San Francisco.
